Favorite Things - Vintage Outerwear and a Great Belt

Labor Day Weekend has always been one of my favorite times of the year.  While I'm lamenting the loss of long summer days, the excitement of crisp Fall weather and the return to stability always makes me feel more grounded and at peace.  I feel like this is something that most New Englanders can relate to - seasons have a remarkable way of noting passing time.

Aside from all that, I get to start thinking about Fall wardrobes, and most importantly outerwear.  I take great pride in my coat collection - for me living between NYC and CT, it's crucial to have pieces that not only make me feel great but also do their jobs.  I'm always on the hunt for a great long vintage coat that I can cinch with a belt and feel completely put together despite what's underneath.  I've had great success at tag sales and vintage auctions - from my Burberry olive trench that's 10 sizes too big to my floor length mink coat that fits like a glove and newly discovered vintage Dior coat with Loro Piana cashmere.

This weekend, I'll be enjoying every minute of the last unofficial days of summer by the pool, don't get me wrong - but with my favorite spritz in hand (IYKYK), I'll also be plotting my favorite waist belt and jacket combos to take me into the next season when I'll need a little more armor to get through the day.  Sharing a few of my favorites:
